I've seen this item mentioned but have no knowledge of it. I'm guessing that original oxygen sensors can be replaced with those have a wider range of operation or data retrieval range. Can someone offer a brief explanation with emphasis on year(s) of application and any benefits? Thanks, Jack
A wideband O2 sensor will measure air'fuel ratios over a broad range. It needs it's own controller and is not meant to replace the stock O2 sensor with is basically a switch. If you have mods, race and burn your own proms, it is a useful tool.
This is the one I have: www.innovatemotorsports.com
I think that it would be accurate enough with it mounted on one side. If you had concerns, you could take readings on one side then readings on the other to prove they are the same.
