84 WHEEL AND TIRE QUESTION??
I have a question about some new rims and tires I just got. I got 1992 vette rims and tires, they are 275-40-ZR17's and one person told me he put them on his vette with no mods and doesnt affect handling at all and another told me i will need to buy something to make them work. Any one know???

Yes you need adapters they are about $300 from Vette Brakes the wheels won't fit on the car by themselves.

The wheels will bolt rite up no problems but they will in about 3/4 on an inch and don't realy look right but work just fine.

The adapters from vette brakes are 3/4". Yes they will bolt up since the bolt pattern is the same. But you can't tell me you aren't having any problems with the front tires rubbing without spacers. I would think when you turn sharp the tire would rub on the inside.

I was just curious because I've always heard that you need the spacers with the stock 88-96 wheels on 84-87's but if it's worked for you I say go for it just giving you my 2 cents. :thumbs:

Ok guys thanks for the help, I get them tomorrow, but the tires that are on the rims are called futura, i have never heard of them but o well not bad for basically free lol. They are center lined or something i have pics but cant post. So the 3/4 space where will that be at?? Can u see from looking at it or will it just be something under the car??

oh ok thanks but to me they look good on there, i dont see anything wrong with them, and are they supposed to be going forward or backward?? And where does it not look right from the tire to the fendor or is it spaced out past the car like a mexican car or what lol ???

Futura... my mom got those tires at pepboys... they were very inexpensive...
These were installed back in 1998 on her lincoln towncar, daily drived, actually they are very sun-toasted (rain + heavy lincoln + toasted tires = :nono: )...
these things are very resistant! somehow, a pothole cracked the wheel, but the tire was ok :confused: ... 1 year later (about a month ago) the tire shreded into pieces, because it was low on air... (thanks to the 1in. - 1 1/2 in. crack on wheel) hahahaha
I've passed LOTS of HUGE pothholes in this car, even a sewer without it's cover, and they are still inflated :lol: incredible but true!
