That and what all is needed to swap to a 134 set up? The link in the tech section is dead.

You will get a lot of opinions, so here is mine.

At a minimum, you will need.....

All new O rings
New Orifice Tube
New evaporator / drier
Remanufactured compressor / clutch
Vacuum all remaining R12, mineral oil, and moisture from all components of system (very important...the two oils are NOT compatible, and if they mix, your new compressor will die a noisy, smoky death).

Charge with R134A to 80% of recommended R12 capacity using PAG oil.

I am sure many will disagree, but I just put on an Autozone Reman compressor and clutch, cost me less than $90 and it's been working fine for 3 years now.

I get 43 degrees at the vent in 100 degree ambient temps.

Not a particularly hard changeover, just plan on spending a whole afternoon doing it.

Should I buy new hoses while I am there? I read some where about a valve that really helps out the r134 system VOV smart Valve?

It's not a bad idea. I resued the old ones since they were in good shape with no ill effects. But if you're planning on keeping this car over the long haul, it wouldn't hurt to replace them.

If you do decide the reuse the old ones, just make sure they are free of any R12 and mineral oil residue.
