Default Very Strange Vibration

Folks,

This one has me stumped. The vert was running very well. I took it out last night and got a very strange vibration. What is strange out it is that it only seems to happen when I step on it hard, it revs up and the tranny kicks down. The vibration only occurs under full throttle. It will occur if I punch it from a standing stop, or rolling, or at medium speed, or at high speed - but only if I punch it!

It does not vibrate under any other circumstances. Run great under normal cuising. Runs greate at light to medium acceleration. Runs great a low, meduim or high speed, so long as you don't punch it.

The key seems to occur when the tranny kicks down. It feels like you are driving over lots of little warning bumps in the road. You feel it thru the seat.

The only recent mod I did was to add a pully assist for my ATI SC. But it seemed to run fine for a couple hundred miles.

And I just was going to treat her to a new set of Silverstars

could it be your tuning in closed loop?

what i fear more is that load is causing a vibration, meaning something is about to break...

can you describe the vibration? what RPM if its specific? where does it feel like its coming from?

Hard to diagnose for a brief description of the problem but here's my guess.

You are feeling the TCC as it disengages. It will disengage exactly under the conditions you described.

If this is the trouble you'll be replacing the TC soon as the clutch is about gone in it.
Might as well freshen up the rest of the transmission while you have it out.

Good luck eith it.
