Default Cleaned MAF Sensor

Well I didn't take it apart, but I did get the crud out. Zip lock bag and isopropyl alcohol. Put enough in to cover sensor and sloshed it back and forth (turned gray and lots of black particles), placed in sunlight for 3 hours, reinstalled in car and what a difference it made screens clean and sensor clean. Hope it was okay to do the results made me smile! :flag :flag

I guess it's no good that the sensor part itself was covered in grime.. I've always heard it's completely non servicable though. Does the car still run okay afterward?

It runs great, the best it ever has! No side effects from cleaning. So good the base idle had to be adjusted back down to 400. The Isopropyl cleaning came from our archives on the forum, which apparently came from another web site. As stated the biggest key was allowing it to evaporate totally.

If the sensor wires were dirty, replace your MAF Burn-Off relay as it's supposed to heat those wires to red heat for 2sec each time you turn off the engine to clean the sensor wires.
