85 starts by itself when battery is connected

Well here it is 7:30pm in texas and the problem is solved. As it turned out, the connection with the yellow wire had it, the yellow wire, in the wrong slot. It took a blade remover to get the yellow wire out, and into it's proper slot. I have no idea how this wire got pulled/pushed out of its slot. If anybody ever needs to change out column, make sure the wire don't come out of the connector. My thanks to everybody who wrote with suggestions...... Each was tried. I only wish I'd read the post from "dl" before I spent the evening under the dash.... thanks again all! :hurray:
