Default No Heat

A couple of months ago I had to have my water pump replaced. Yesterday I tried the heat - no heat. AC works fine.

What might they have screwed up to stop the heat? Anyone know where I should look first?

Thanks

If you run low on coolant, your heater could quit working. Hopefully your "low coolant" light would come on alerting you to this though.

If your "low coolant" light isn't working though, it's something to check if you haven't already.

I haven't really looked at a Corvette heater/ac system too closely, so sorry I can't be of further help.

maybe they dislodged enough corrosion and slime to clog the heater core. You can try to reverse flush it and see if it will clear up. BE VERY GENTLE WITH THE 2 PIPES THAT COME OUT OF THE FIREWALL/CORE TUBES! You do not want to spring a leak from the heater core. Can purchase a prestone(typically) flush kit. It has a 3 way valve you splice into the line that drains the core. Hookup a garden hose and crank it to flush out. Drain grunge into a resovoir so that coolant doesn't go down the drain and pollute the environment
Also search our archives here. Type in "no heat" like your title. You will find ALL the info :D

Do a little troubleshooting...... Get the motor warmed up. THere are two heater hoses on the passenger side firewall . Check them both for an equal amount of heat. if there is a signifigant difference the heater core is probably clogged. if they are the same temp. the control door is probably stuck shut.

Thanks for the replies. Both hoses are the same temp so its sounding like a stuck heater door.

If you have the electronic climate control - the picture is a view from the top - with the dash pad removed and the ECU moved to the side.

I had the opposite problem - mine was stuck on full heat.

I know it's not on the topic, but how did you put that yellow circle on your picture?
