Default BBK Throttle Body owners, please step inside.

I am putting on my new BBK 52mm TB, and noticed that on the passengers side, instead of one nipple sticking out, like on the stocker, there are two. The upper one (larger) is where the PCV line attaches to the valve cover. I have no earthly idea what the other (smaller) nipple is for though.

I don't know where my camera is, so I'll describe what I see. Looking where the nipple runs to in the TB, the outlet goes to a cast-in groove on the inner side of the TB, where the gasket seats. This groove runs around the pass. side butterfly opening, then Y's off to another groove that goes around the driver's side butterfly opening. Both groove terminate at the edge of each opening, leaving a path for air to get into or out of the TB.

Why is this here? Where is this suppose to hook up to? I think I may just plug it up, since the stock one doesn't have this nipple and groove configuration.

Any thoughts would be very helpful.

Some cars had the extra vacuum port there that they used and your car doesnt need it so buy a kit of rubber vacuum caps and one of the large ones will fit over it.I dont have a BBK anymore,I sold mine but I remember it had that extra port.
:)

On my '88 there is medium size vacuum line that runs from the left fender well, under the TB into that port. This line, I believe goes to the purge canister.

The only vac line I had running to the old one was a small line running to the canister. I thought about that for a sec, but the port is too large for a regular sized vac line.

I found something interesting, though. The stock TB has the same grooves as I described that the BBK has. But, where the BBK has the extra port, the stock has a partial, cast-in hole. Weird...

Thanks for the input guys. I'll get something to plug it with tomorrow.

If you don't need that port you can find vacuum nipples of various sizes at AutoZone.

My 52 mm BBK has the same two hose bibs, I simply did as others have suggested and bought a little kit from AutoZone and blocked off the lower one.
