tranny question ??
ok guys my auto tranny on my 84 has about 114xx on it and it has a strange prob... normal driving it does this (i will do my best to explane it)
1st................2nd..3rd............. .......4th
once i hit second it shifts right into 3 unless i gun it
and when i gun it it has no prob shifting. sorry if i dont make sence i really dont know how to explane it. if you all dont understand tell me and ill try to make more sence
also.. is there any way i can change how it shifts like at higher rpms with out some major work

You can adjust the part-throttle shift points & feel by making minor adjustments to the TV cable head position. However, be careful here as this cable controls line pressure and so mis-adjustment can have bad effects on tranny wear.
To adjust WOT shift points you need to change the weights and/or springs in the governor. You can buy a governor recalibration from B&M for around $30 of so.
It sounds like you may have internal tranny problems but you could try changing fluid & filter along with some TV cable tweaks before going to a tranny shop.
