I'm getting ready to assemble a 95 LT1 with a GM 847 camshaft (296/304 duration and .575/595 lift). I would like to spin the engine to 6800 rpm.
I will be using the Competition Cams Pro Magnum hydraulic lifters that use the factory lifter retaining system. Along with this I'm seriously considering a REV kit.
One that I'm looking at is AFR's Hydra Rev. One concern is its springs are mounted in an aluminum bar-doesn't look to be a metal shim there at all-durability is most important...
Does anyone have any experiences with specific models of rev kits?
I've got the AFR Rev Kit and like it. Just make sure that you still get the correct valve springs. Mine pulls hard all the way to 7,000rpm w/ stock lifters. Pics are here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=615523
I'd been thinking about buying a rev kit I checked AFR's site and saw their's won't fit Crane or Lunati lifters.
I'm running lifters I bought from TPIS when I got the ZZ9 years back. Does anyone know who makes their lifters? (I'll bet it's Crane, the way my luck had been running lately).
