Cut lid
Are there any special considerations when opening up the air cleaner lid? Do I just remove several of the fins ? What about adding a piece of screen to keep out the Chunks. :smash:

Your air filter will keep out any chunks. Just cut it and go.

:iagree: as well. I used my dremel with the heavy duty cut wheels, and it took a long time. Others have used a die grinder or tin snips.

Re: Cut lid (C4DC)
Personal experience:
Torch is too much. Tin snips are perfect. Clean edges with grinder. Paint to taste.
If it takes more than ten minutes, you are doing something wrong.

Use a dremel tool to cut out the louvers, file any rough spots for smooth finish, simple and quick. Paint cut metal with matt black heat resistant spry paint. K&N will keep out "chunks" :D .
