Help! Stuck Emergency Brake Release
Could use a litte advice - Parked my 90 on hilly driveway this morning. Had to pull up hard on emergency brake lever to engage her. Now, I can't get it disengaged - If I pull on handle any harder I"ll break housing off of door sill. Are there any tricks to pop her loose?

I had the same thing happen to me once so dont feel bad! I went and got those angle neck screwdrivers and removed the cover. Had a look at the components and with some effort and needle nose pliers(sp?) I was able to work the lever and get the brake to release. It has worked fine ever since! I just remember to not pull up so hard! Hope this sort of helps. :)

If it is the same as my 94LT1, stick a thin blade screwdriver down into the slot where the handle goes in to the housing. There is a metal pawl that catches the mechanism. If you can stick the blade where the pawl sits, there will be a pop and the pawl will release the ratcheted brake mechanism.
