flashing "sys" on guage cluster

flashing "sys" on guage cluster

What does this mean, I tore apart the dash and put everything back together, and now overy 2-3 minutes if flashes "sys" in place of the temp, volts, etc. The battery was disconnected and reconnected. Is this maybe the computer still learning everything?

It could be a low charge on your battery.

You have a code set in the comp. Read the code and see what it says.

Have you installed an aftermarket head unit recently? That caused a sys light for me since the dash light/dimmer ground (?) wasn't done correctly. This is common when someone does the installation for you.

Do all of your gauges work properly? Mine was the analog water temp gauge. The sender had broken off the passenger head.

IT was a bad battery, I installed a new one and the problem has not happened again. All the gauges work, and nothing electrical was installed. Looks like I'm back in business, now for my other handfull of car problems!!
