Default Oil pan type question....
I meant to ask this question a couple of weeks ago, but forgot.

I replaced the oil pan gasket and when I had the pan out, I found this chunk of metal. It looks much like a spent bullet, all flattened and such. It's about 10mm around and 4mm thick.

what scares me is what it might mean... :cry

Is it a magnet for catching metal debre? I know the trans pan on an automatic has a magnet in the pan. Just a thought. Good luck!
