TPS adjustment

With IAC connected and ign OFF, short diag connector A & B
Turn ign to on (without starting engine) wait 30 sec
With ign ON disconnect IAC connector
Remove jumper for diag connector
Start engine and wait to reach normal ops temp, idle speed will be low, you will have to rev to keep it running
If Auto, set parking brake, and put trans in Drive, if manual leave in neutral
Adjust idle speed to 450-500
shut down engine and reconnect IAC
TPS
There are 3 wires on TPS - need to measure DC volts from the top 2 wires, paper clips work well.
Turn ign to ON (do not start engine)
Loosen TPS torx adj screws
set volt meter to low scale DC that read less than 1volt
Measure volt between two wires
Adjust TPS by rotating until you get .54 - .62v... (adjusted mine 4 times till best response)
Tighten torx bolts , recheck volts, drive and see, the readjust if required
* may take a few seconds to catch on to the new settings, thats why i take it for a drive inbetween settings.
Hope this helps...
Finally, once you get the base idle TPS setting close to .54Vdc, manually open the throttle and rock the TPS slightly about the lower bolt till you get the max TPS reading at WOT.
After you've set the TPS to .54, slowly open the throttle plates to full open, watching the volt meter climb steadily to reach 4.65V. If it's not hitting 4.65, loosen the torx screws and adjust. Yes, the high end adjustment (4.65) affects the low end (.54), so keep checking closed and full open throttle plates. After tightening the torx screws check it again.
BTW, if while slowly opening the throttle plates, the volt meter doesn't climb steadily, you may have a bad TPS.
Good Luck - it's not that hard.
