Headers for my 86 Vette
I like my Heddman long-tubes. $172.00 without A.I.R. fittings. Give them a couple of coats of stainless steel header paint before install, available from the Eastwood Company. Don't fall for the ceramic-coating hype. It will cost you more than the headers. Jet-Hot wanted $305 to coat my $172.00 headers.
If underhood temps bother you, checkout the cool hood vents at Greenwood or use the header wrap. But the ss paint works pretty well.
BTW, my Desktop Dyno 2000 software says a 38HP gain.

The primary size, 1.75" or 1 5/8", depends on your ultimate power goal. So you still have to do your research and come up with something long-term.
2151 is just pipes, you have to have an O2 bung put on.
2149 has emissions and O2 fittings. You will need a 16720 Y-pipe, though you may end up wanting to custom fit this part, lots of complaints on this part's fitment. (I will get 2149s for my 86 within a year hopefully) I think everything (new) costs in the $700-800 range.
I would look at TPiS headers too, and I would never ever buy Hedman.
Proven results of headers shows about 15hp gain at peak, and substantial power integral gain everywhere else.
