Fluctuating Tach, What to do??????
My Tach flucuates up and down. It never has read correctly or steadily. Any ideas or comments would be appreciated. :( :cuss

What kind of a filter? I plan on having the "CORVETTE'S ONLY " shop in town do some troubleshooting for me. The owner seems to be up to speed on vette's. Plus, runs the local Corvette Club. :)

Check your distributor gear. Mine would do that when the teeth were worn into razor blades right before it finally sheered them off and stopped running.

Its the tach filter...mine is dioing the same , unfortunitly the have been disscontinued from G.M. and no one has a replacement... :chevy

How does your tach fluctuate? Mine does that sometimes also. It would jump from 2500rpm to 5000rpm then back down within a matter of a split second. Is that what yours is doing?
If it is the tach filter, will getting an aftermarket tach fix this problem?
How do you replace the tach filter?

the corvette suppliers I use don't have any listing for the filter...never delt with MAD...G.M..dealer did a search through Canada and U.S. Have to get a MAD catologue to order it. Thanks for the tip.. :thumbs:
