I noticed the stock program has timing going up to 42* or something high.. and my modified table has it going as high as 46* this sounds pretty high..
I remeber in the old Crab/HEI days most cars like about 36-38* total timing.. are LT1's that different? if so is it because of the reverse flow cooling or jsut the distributorless ignition..
So you found your car (LT1) likes 41* total advance? That is still somehwat higher than the old days when most chevy small blocks liked 36-38* total..
That I'm really tring to do is figure out how much advance the car likes.. it doesnt retard the timing at my current numbers. However, I read somepace than more timing is not always better.. and adding more cubes, higher compression and bigger cam usually requires the timing to be retarted a bit.. not advanced from the stock program like mine.
Also my car is running 11:1 compression with no spark retard. Every car is different, just find out what timing your car likes. I did my final WOT tuning on a DynoJet with a wide band o2.
