?'s on engine block
Is this block in good shape? The block is on ebay the Item # is 2449782053
The one of the main caps is cracked can it be repaired or replaced. Also the block has been repaired before it shows it in the second picture. Will it be a problem?

Well its got a 4.255" bore which is 0.005" over normal. From what I know you can usually take a 454 block to 4.31" max overbore so it should clean up nicely. The thing that worries me is why is a main cap busted? Sure replacing it is easy, but it takes a lot to do that in the first place. What sort of hard life may it of had? Is it close? I would request magnafluxing the block before purchase. Then again its only $49.99.

I noticed that wierdness between 2&4, I'd like to know what that is too. I can't see a sleeve from the pics.
Mortec reports that block as being: 3999289....454.......72-79...2 or 4 bolt, some "CE" replacement blocks had four bolt main caps
