Default engine flooding

I went out for a short ride Xmas day in my 86. At a stop sign the engine died , after awhile it fired up and I drove home. Fuel pressure seams fine but cylinders are flooded . I can start it but it keeps flooding out, No codes any ideas ?

You can use the ECM's diagnostic mode to see if it's going and staying in closed loop.

You could also clean the TB plates & bore with some TB cleaner.

You can pull the air intake and look into the MAF (carfully) while someone turns off the engine. Verify that the sensor wires glow bright red for 2sec after shut off.

Though pressure is fine at idle how is the leak down rate?

To check leakdown turn the key on and, after the pump has primed the fuel real see how long it takes pressure to fall off significanlty.

If it won't idle you might pull and clean the IAC pintel and it's bore uinder the TB.

A scan tool would realy be helpful here.
