Front Y-pipe replacement
I was changing the oil earlier today and noticed that the driver side pre-cat is shot. It was so hot, I could barely touch it while the pass side one was luke warm as well as the pipe after the driver side pre-cat. This was after only driving the car for about 100 yards. Nobody around here will custom fab a new front y-pipe or cut the cats off and weld pipe in instead. I don't want to just replace the cats. Who makes a good front y-pipe w/o the pre-cats? I know a couple of the mail order places make one, but it doesn't seem like it's mandrel bent. Fit's the most important thing here, even if it's not mandrel bent.
BTW, it's for an '88.

Some guys have had success with the 2 1/2" mandrel-bent SS pipe from MAD, though mine came a little mangled so I returned it and had a performance exhaust shop fab one up.
To find a local shop you might check with the local drag strip affiliates; that's where I got my reference.
