Hi everybody, I'm new to the forum and have a quick question... I have an 89 that is pretty much stock, but in the near future I'm planning on turning it into a 383 stroker. I have the engine pretty much planed out but don't really know what to do with the intake system, I have been leaning towards either the TPIS Mini-Ram or the LPE/Accel Super Ram. I have heard good and bad about both and am at a loss. Any personal experiences or opinions are greatly appreciated.
I guess it turned out to be not so quick, sorry about the length
Thanks, Steven
How bout this. I am going with a SuperRam 383 and AFR heads. see the sig. I think the mini ram may be great if you have 6spd and keep your car in the power band at all times, but if you got 4 gears like me you want the fatest torque curve possible. but hey. Ask Ski_dwn_it he knows the answer to your question ; )
I have a 383 miniram built by Exotic Muscle, they are going to dyno the car sometime next week. When I get some #'s I'll post them. The car is fun to drive (I have an auto with after market torque converter-vigilante). The consensus seems to follow -auto=superram, standard=miniram. I am the exception my auto and miniram run great around town, plenty of seat of the pants torque. If emissions are a concern then the miniram may not be a good choice. Give Merle or Trevor at Exotic Muscle a call, very friendly and helpful. (480-967-4222) Phil :seeya
Thanks everybody, well my car is a 6-speed and I feel that I would probably be happier with the MR, especially with some lower gears. I imagine that w/ a 383 torque isn't an issue. And emissions aren't really a concern.
Thanks again, Steven
