What year did the Passive Keyless Entry come out on?
I was thinking it was 93, but I was changing out my little bulb that say's ASR off on my 92, and I noticed my info center also had a "PKE" slot in it with a bulb already in it. Which I thought the bulb being in it was even more curious than the slot for PKE, because some of the other slots for say like LTPWS light weren't in there because my car didn't come equiped with LTPWS.
Is it possible that maybe they started the PKE late in the model year for the 92 and if so How can I find out for sure?
The 1993 Corvette was the first GM car sold with Passive Keyless Entry, PKE. A transmitter in the key fob sent a code which was picked up by a reciever in the car through one of two antennas. (In coupes the antennas were in the driver door and the rear deck. In convertibles the antennas were in both doors.)
