Due to an inexperienced Maine driver on a perfectly sunny day I received a few small bush scratches on my baby. I had a lady turn in front of me from a a small side road she sped up to get in front then prettty much slammed on her brakes i vered left to avoid smashing into her and went for a wild ride the tires slipped and i fished tail left and right eventually endede up doing a few 180's across on coming traffic slid off the road into a small maine forest stopping inches from my driver's side meeting a rather large oak tree. whew all that was damaged was a cracked rim and some small scratches from the bushes Thank God. I am now in the process of getting a full custom House of Kolors paint job (I know some will say keep it stock but this is my project) and I need to know where i can get some decent 18- 20 inch custom rims that are not superman priced most places i've called said that they have to be custom made any one with custom rims or that can help please reply :seeya
I think Exotic Muscle offers wheels that size. I have chrome Z06 18" wheels on all 4 corners of mine. I like them a lot! If you want a factory looking set, look at AFS.
thanks I am going to check and see if they have a website right now i am looking for a custom set i like how the z06 rims look but with the custom paint job i'm getting i need something that will really bring it out i figure at least 19's or maybe 20's with paper thin tires lol :seeya

I hear where your coming from.. You want the "LOOK" but think about it.. if you had 20" wheels with real small sidewalls you would probably be looking to buy 4 new tires & maybe 2 rims after what happened to you..
Remember with small sidewall tires if you hit a pot hole you stand a good chance of a blowout & screwing up the wheel.
I see kids with Honda's who have 18" wheels & rubber band tires & after talking to some of them, they say they are selling their wheel set up because of blowouts & bent wheels.
The 20" rims this tires may look great, but for driving on "REAL" streets they aren't very practical
I'd do some checking, & ask someone you trust about 20" wheels... Also I have not seen any Vette with 20" wheels that I think looks good, but that is only my opinion, I'm talking about being practical not looks..
Your Right red I really want 18's or 19's but its been hard to find any 18 or 19 inch rims that are unique thats my dilema i know the HRE's are nice but they are almost common somebody has to make some nice rims that will stand out and still perform i've seen some vette's with 20" rims and true it looks odd but i think 18-19 looks nice and still leaves room for some serious meat. Thanks for the reply

I don't know what type of look your trying to get, or what type of "look you prefer"... speaking for MYSELF only...
I HATE the "Rice Look" & I think when going to such large (20") wheels even on a Vette, you have to be VERY CAREFUL not to get that "Rice Look" unless of course that is what you like, & want..
Again speaking for myself, I love the look my car has with... 15" Weld Pro Star wheels.. However these wheels give the "Drag Race Look" which is what I prefer, others prefer the "Road Race" which would be 17" or 18" with a thinner side wall tire..
Again its all in the owners taste... and my taste is NOT the Rice Look.. :)

I would highly recommend the Simmons wheels. I was in a similar situation to yours (the fact that I wanted wheels, not the accident). The Simmons are much more reasonably priced when you compare to Fikse or HRE. IMHO, the FM5 Fikse is the best looking wheel on a C4, but at almost 4K for wheels, it's quite an investment.
The Simmons are of extremely high quality, 3 piece forged and can come in any setup that you desire. I wouldn't personally recommend going bigger than 18s on a C4, but that's just me. A good set of Simmons (mine are called F-Series) will set you back a bit more than half of the price of the Fikse's. I believe that CCW and Simmons are similarly priced.
If you're interested in Simmons, call Group A Wheels and speak with Jeff. The website is http://www.groupawheels.com and you'll want to call the Arizona office at 480-813-4776. If you speak with Jeff, tell him Ron from Ohio sent you. He's very knowledgeable and will take lots of time out to work with you on exactly what you want from the rims. You won't be disappointed. I know that I wasn't.
If you like the ZO6 look. Go on ebay and check the motorsport zo6. It looks like a 3 pc wheel and comes in colors and up to 20 inch diameter. Not to expensive either.
With the exception of the bolt heads, those F series forged Simmons rims are pretty similar to the forged 18 inch Fikses that I have on my car. From what I have seen, the Fikses certainly do have a "Superman" price on them (fortunately the PO picked up that tab for me). I have 335/30-18 tires on the rear rims.
Let me know if you would like me to shoot you some pictures of the installed Fikses on a C4 coupe.
Thanks alot that Group A website was Hottt :smash: I did alot of searching but never saw that site before thanks again got a feeling I'll be calling your buddy soon. Those rims look nice on your Vette Too 18x10 and 18x 11 Now thats some serious meat they must look really nice from the back end with all that width did you need a spewcial offset so you didn't need those GS fender flares?
Thanks I would love to see a pic if you have the time. I've been looking and websites and magazines calling companies for a few months with no luck and all it took was a few hours on the Forum Thanks to all the great members on here. I wish you all a Happy New Years  :seeya

Bingo. I wanted the FM5s myself, but couldn't swing the costs. These look very similar and also have the bolts around the side which make them like HREs as well.

Here's a close up of the rear wheel. No fender flares needed. The tires out back are 295/35/18.
Here's a pic of the front before I installed a set of Baer Eradispeeds. The brakes look 100x better than they do in this pic, but for now, its about the rims.
I do need to do something about the ride height, but there's a few other things that will come first. I would HIGHLY recommend the Toyo tires. These things have amazing grip and a strong sidewall structure.
I am a total rookie on posting pictures to the CF, but here goes a Fikse picture on my 92 ZR1:
The picture resolution seems a little low on this image site, so send your email address to mangusta1969 *at* yahoo*dot*com and I will send you some higher resolution pictures (substitute the appropriate email characters above -- I am trying to keep this address out of the spammer's hands/computers).
If you get a new set of wheels installed, be sure to keep your car out of the woods. Good luck and Happy New Year.
Have you thought about lowering your car? I think it would really compliment the look of the entire vehicle if it were atleast an inch lower.
Nice rims!
Thanks for the compliment!
Lowering the car is definitely on my list. This past driving season got cut way short for me as a spun 2 rod bearings in my 350. Now that the 396 is completed, I need to address some suspension concerns and at that time I'd like to lower the car. The front isn't terribly bad, but the rear reminds me of those air shocks of the early 80s. :-)
