Rear Hatch Release problem
The hatch release buttons on the sides of the doors of my '92 C4 no longer work. They used to work intermittently, but recently they quit altogether. The button under the console door still opens it fine and have had no problems with it. I need your expertise! I looked in the Forum archives and could not find anything that would help. Answers...Ideas...Smart remarks?

Same thing happened with mine, over the summer. I was having a problem with the door switch(push button, not the hatch button). Are you noticing your radio stays on when your door opens?? All I did was squirt the little switch with Liquid Wrench, and it's worked great since.

When this exact same thing happened to me, it was because the little push button that detects whether or not my door is open had become gummed up and my car thought my doors were always closed. I sprayed a little WD40 and it's been fine ever since.
When you open your door, do your interior lights turn on? If they do that's probably not your problem. If they stay off, try cleaning those buttons.
