I have a '90 L-98. The temp gauge doesn't move, so I think the sender may be bad. Where is it and what do I need to know about removing and testing it?
Happy New Year to all! Please don't  and drive. I have lots more questions.
:iagree: its in between 6 and 8. Cheap to replace. Just remember as soon as you remove it from block your coolant will coming pooring out so keep new one real close at hand.
If you are indeed going to be replacing it, consider a low temp one. What you describe seems to indicate it's replacement. I agree with the previous posts. Its inexpensive easy to replace and it will keep your temp in check even in traffic at the same time.

If your state requires Bi Annual Smog Inspections I would keep my stock one on hand if you do go with a low temp one. They will have trouble getting the
vette to reach temps a little over 200 degrees. Its like a 5 minute swap.
I think your a little confused. It sounds like he is changing the temp sender for the gauge not the fans. It sounds like he already has a lower temp. unit. :lolg: just kidding.
