I'm in the process of putting the stock windage tray back on my 383 after I finish slotting some holes for the rod bolts to poke through because of the extra stroke.
My question is, what do I torque the the main cap bolts to? Normally I'd use the spec from my service manual but that was for the stock 2 bolt block - I'm using a GM bolt bolt block currently.
You got a 4-bolt now? I went through the same thing. For some reason 75 inner and and 50 outter are sticking in my head, but don't quote me. Maybe I can find it in the archives.
For some reason spacing it down didn't occur to me until I had already finishing putting a few extra holes in it. It won't control the oil quite as well that way but it should be better than nothing. I'll see if I can find an unmolested one and just space it down.
CFI-EFI was right on. I just called my engine builder and he said 70 for the long bolts (the inside and the end caps) and 65 for the short bolts (outside).
So tomorrow it goes back together.... again. :steering:
