That's what happened when I disnoccected my MAF.
The only way I found to effectively test for a bad MAF was to sub one from another TPI car, in my case from my '86 IROC.

I thought it should shut down, but I was on another forum and there was a topic of the same brought up and their reply was if the engine quits...maf sensor is not working..thanks for the quick reply...oh ya..Happy New Year.. :chevy

I think everything is working the way it should be..I just posted this question as I seen another forum post mentioning that if maf sensor dissconnected car should still run not quit.. :seeya
