My89 won't start HELP
I was told to check the injectors and make sure they were all 16.6 ohms with my ohm meter. One was 9.4 ohms, the rest 16.6 ohms on the money. I was told if it was this low it was probably a bad injector and just to replace all of them?? The car has 120,000 miles on it. Well, I took off the injector clips that hold the plugs to each injector, checked the injectors and put the plugs and clips back on. I was excided as I think the ruff idle problem really may be that injector. But "dummy me", not knowing, left the ignintion key in the run position while pulling and reinstalling the plugs and clips on each injector. I can imagine I might of really confused the computer or damaged it. I was removing and re plugging the injector wires back in while the computer was on line.
Now the car won't start, it pops, trys to run and shuts down. It has never done that before untill I messed with the injectors, today. I smell raw fuel "big time, when I try to start the car, but no leaks. I looked in the manifold and it was very wet in there. The plugs are wet with exception of the possible bad injector with the 9.7 Ohm reading, its' spark plug was dry. The plugs in this vette have always burt clean. I just changed the. I checked the plug wires, plugs, wires to the injectors. OH ya I moved two of the injectors about a 1/4 turn. They will move around. I did this to get at the wire connectors on the injectors. They were slightly hidden behind the intake manifold as the injectors will move. I checked the new rotor cap and rotor for any mosture in the cap as this acts like a cross file. But all OK.
I have an extra computer if I cooked this one, but I did something...by removing all the injector wires while the key was on. Gosh that is dump . Could I have really screwed up the injector sequence from the computers perpestive. And why all that raw fuel smell when you shut the car down. What is up with that? I have noticed a raw fuel smell the past months when the car comes into the garage, but not as bad as this. I thought the fuel oder than was coming from a bad gas cap.
Any body with any suggestions...It truly sounds, when she trys to start the injector or timing sequence is all messed up. I currently have the neg battery cable off the battery and I am charging the battery as it ran down while trying to get her started.
ANY IDEAS WHAT YOU THINK i HAVE DONE and what I might do to fix it.
Any help appreciated.

I would try your spare ECM next.

I am at a losse here...I will check the fuses for the injectors,,,,I am not sure where they are. The way the car runs I do not think it is running on more than 4 of the 8. :nopity
One thing to consider is getting the factory service manual if you currently don't have one. If you don't like the thing, I'll buy it. You really need one for troubleshooting.
A few comments. A weak injector shouldn't cause a no start problem. You may have more than one problem.
First, pull the fuel pressure regulator's vacuum hose and check for fuel, if fuel there, it's time for a new regulator (or repair). If you have fuel in the normally dry plenum area, vacuum is pulling fuel from somewhere. Fuel pressure regulator is usually the culprit.. Go up front, throttle body, right side, and pull the hose coming over from the vapor collection cannister. Dry or wet?
IF regulator looks good, no fuel in vacuum hose, put a fuel pressure gauge on the rail and check pressure and pressure drop rate after key is turned "OFF". Believe you are in the right area, fuel system problem(s).
At some point, I would replace the weak injector. Have the others cleaned and tested. When removing the injectors, make sure you mark the suspect injector. Had all 8 of my injectors cleaned and tested for under $60, local guy.
Let us know.
