Default Brake leak location?

The front brake fluid reservoir keeps losing fluid and I am getting fluid on the floor behind left front tire.....Any suggestions? Only the front reservoir level goes down. Brake booster? Master cylinder?

 Fluid should not come in contact with power brake booster!

You say the fluid is on the floor on drivers side?

Only two places Master Cylinder should be able to leak, 1) at the fitting attaching the brake line to the MC and 2) at the safety switch screwed into the side of the MC.

Whoops, I guess if the MC O rings are shot, fluid could leak back toward and maybe into the booster. But for this to happen, IMHO, you would have to experience severe brake pedal fade as the fluid leaked around the seals in the bore of the cylinder.

What about a leak in the seal that holds the cup to the metal body of the Master Cylinder?

 Yes, possible, but that should be pretty visible in a visual inspection. Plus, it would probably drip straight down and pool on the frame

To original poster: Have you checked for fluid evidence at the front calipers, particulary on the insides of the calipers that aren't readily visible from an on the ground inspection?

Just replaced the master cylinder for the same problem. The fluid was leaking from the master cylinder between it and the brake booster. I was lucky, it leaked on the outside of the booster down onto the brake lines running to the ABS module in the rear of the car and puddled on the floor right behind the front left wheel where you would jack the car up. At first I thought a brake line had gotten pinched from one if the times the car had been jacked up. A little cleaning with a rag and brake cleaner helped find the source of the leak.

Good luck!

Thanks for the input....I think it is at the Master cylinder where it attaches to booster. Calipers are good, I had them off last week when I lowered the front end.
