temperature sender - which one?
I want to replace the temp sender that gauge reads on my 84. Local Napa and Autozone can't find a PN for it, and I can't seem to find it on either of their Web sites, either.
On the Web, a found a place called "RockAuto" that list a few different temp senders from a company called MotorMite.
Desc's are as follows:
1. MotorMite p/n # 85104
Sensor Coolant Temp
$6.04
2. MotorMite p/n # 85100
Switch Coolant Temp
$9.00
3. MotorMite p/n # 85149
Sensor Coolant Fan
$9.33
4. MotorMite p/n # 85102

Anyone care to venture an educated guess as to which one is the gauge sender? Or, if someone knows the AC Delco p/n...

The temp guage sensor and the fan switch have swapped positions several times over the years. On the 1984, the guage sender/sensor is on the left side of the car. It is in the cylinder head, between the number 1 and 3 spark plugs. The GM part number is 25036135. At least that WAS the number when my Corvette parts book was printed in 1989. The number may have superceded since then, but it should get you the correct item. Good luck, and...
