Has any one had a problem replacing only one front wheel bearing hub assembly? I replaced the rt. front three times with a BCA and it was worse than the original. They had movement. The car pulls to the left and has been aligned.I now have a chicago Rawhide from Pep Boys. But I am almost afraid to try another atermarket Hub assembly.
I replaced a BCA bearing on the front rt a month ago and it already has play in it. I thought it may have been caused by the cupping in my tires causing some unusual vibration so I was going to wait until I replaced my tires before I replaced it again.
Pep Boys sells SDK, and I assume SDK has various suppliers. So there are various brands that will come in the same box... but some of the SDK boxes will have bearings identical to GM originals. Open the box and inspect them before buying.
Chicago Rawhide is supposed to be reputable from what I've heard...
PepBoys probably gets their bearing from several sources, so depending on where you live and when you buy, the brand could vary. The unit they sold me earlier this year was a Chicago Rawhide (CH) bearing. I did a little digging and discovered that CH is a subsidiary of SKF, which is a large and well respected bearing manufacturer. This made me feel a lot better about putting the CH bearing in my vette. You can bet that GM doesn't make bearings and I suspect that SKF is an OEM supplier to the auto industry, so I wouldn't be surprised if the Delco bearings are identical to (some of) the less expensive, third party brands.
