Default SuperRam and MiniRam

What does it take to install either in an 88 C4? What is each good for and where can I get some tech info?

I'm thinking about bore and stroke to 396 followed by a blower. What do y'all think?

Super ram is good for low, mid and a bit of high RMP power, the mini ram is mid and high RMP power.

If you have an automatic its better to go with the Superam, if you have a manual then you have the luxury of going with the miniram and Reving the engine really high to get the max out of the Mini ram.

I'm sure other will explain more into details, but this is prettye much what the differences are between these two setups.

There have been hundreds of debates on which is better, so run a search in the Tech archives.

If you're going 396, blower, I would strongly consider Miniram or something that will let you spin. The blower and the torque of the 396 would be a good combination with the top end ability of the Miniram. But a Superram would give you monstrous low-end and midrange with that combination. Depends on which you want.

Depends on the desired final outcome. As already said, the super ram really picks it up on the bottom end and up through the middle rpms. If you are staying on the street with an occassion run down the strip, the super ram works great.

The miniram doesn't build as much torque but it gives solid torque in a flatter, longer band. If you are planning on doing streets and road course events (driving events), than the miniram is the better choice.

Remember this has to be tempered with your selection of heads, cam, and valves. The right head/cam combination for a miniram can be dog slow on a suprer ram and vice versa.

:iagree: With the extra cubes and forced induction, you won't have ANY problems with the loss of low end most people attribute to the miniram.

You may also want to consider how incredibly easy the install and removal of the mini-ram is. Way easier than the others I think.

Given the application Id say miniram without a doubt. Torque isn't going to be a problem for a blown 396. Id guess a blown 396 would put my torque numbers to shame..... Buy stock in Goodyear :D

Mine just pulled 490rwtq with the 396 SuperRam and no blower to give you an idea.
