I have an Optispark that is disassembled, trouble is, I don't have the screws that hold it together. Anybody know what size I need? Also what type to get, I probably will never find the stock reverse torx/evil head screws. The ones from my old one are bent and broken along with the rest of the opti when the engine blew up.
good luck!! I think its a #6 screw but its fine thread. friend of mine had same prob in his camaro and he had to tap the holes with #6x32 tap since he couldnt find the right screw size.
How quick do you need them? I've got a stock set of screws you can have, just need to finish making a new dust cap to replace the stock Opti distributor cap. I use an LTCC unit and have removed the rotor & cap from my Opti. It may be a few days before I'm ready to let these go.
Alright, I'll keep that in mind. I'd like to finish my motor project up next weekend though. I'm going to try and find some bolts or maybe tap new holes like said above. I found 2 of the four screws to be reusable so I just need to find 2 of them.
Well, they are definitely #6 screws but higher than 32 count threads. I'd say closer to 40 count but no one seems to carry these nor the stupid E4 torx socket. Argggg, I'm going to try some self tapping screws with 32 count, hopefully it will last long enough for me to save up enough money for the LTCC conversion.
Just in case anyone is interested. I ended up using the #6-32 count thread self-tapping screws. I picked up some stainless steel ones from Home Depot. They screwed right in making their own threads and all you need is a phillips head screwdriver. Also, you'll want to grind off the tips that stick through the other end with a dremel tool or a file.
