Which coolant sensor goes to the ECM, not the dash display? I'm sure it's on the front of the intake manifold, but it looks like there is also another sensor for something else in that same general location. Is it the one directly below the short coolant hose that comes off the throttle body?? Or is it alittle more to the passenger side?
I've been chasing an intermittent O2 code 13 & 44 and am hoping my changing the cooland sensor may help. I've already replaced the O2 sensor, but I still get the intermittent code on my AutoXray scanner. According to the scanner, my coolant temp is normal, but I'm about at my wits end trying to get rid on this code and get my good mileage back. Would a bad EGR valve or code 32 have anything to do with the O2 situation?? I get a code 32 intermittently also.
I'm stumped!!
Re: Which coolant sensor do I look for...........? (fixvet)
On My 86 its the coolant sensor is a colour of light brown...Its been a while since I have been there as the car has been covered for a month or so...If my memory serves me correct...its the sensor closest to the passanger side head....

65Z01..Thanks. "To the right", are you referring to the passenger side?? I just want to make sure before I start. To me, it looks like it is under the TB coolant hose connection on the front of the intake.

None of your codes appear to have anything to do with the CTS. 13 is an open in the O2 circuit; frequently because the wire has burned through from contacting the manifold. 44 can accompany the 13 if there is an intermittent ground in the connector or wire causing the voltage signal to stay low indicating a lean condition. For the 32, check vacuum lines, particularly at the tee from the purge tank close to the solenoid, to the left of the throttlebody/plenum.
