These are the large (30mm?) bolts that hold the upper A-arms on the cross-shaft. (huh, huh, I said "shaft")
I couldn't find a torque spec in the manual as these are supposed to be "non-serviceable". VetteBrake instructions say to retorque to factory specs?????
Sooooo, anyone know what that torque spec is.
Also, what is the proper prep on these threads. Do they get anysort of threadlocker? When I pulled the nuts off, they seem to have been sealed with a heavy (almost RTV-like) thread prep.
Re: Upper A-Arm torque spec. and thread prep???????? (Z-PDX)
You are correct, there's no torque value given by the factory, they don't sell the parts seperately so never provided the torque. Most people just tighten the 30mm nuts very, very tight. Threadlock may not be necessary but that wouldn't hurt anything......

:iagree: with Ed. I tighten them using a 1/2" drive breaker bar and lean into it until just before a vein pops. :jester
I haven't noticed a lot of sealant residue. I clean them with a wire wheel & use some Locktite red (242). I did have one back off a bit once that I hadn't used Locktite on. :flag
