I've been looking for a stall converter and i know ill need a transmission cooler as well but i was just asking to see if this was a good one to buy or not..Thanks alot
Well, they have 100% feedback over several hundred transactions and the stall speed looks to be in a conservative range for daily drivers. I would look up some of the buyers of previous auctions via ebay, and email them as to how they liked the converters and what they would do different, etc, etc.
If you can't track them down on your own, call or contact the seller and ask for references (at the very least, you'll get a feel for their reputability).
The rest of the tranny is expensive to fix, so I wouldn't skimp on a major component because it's cheap. However, this auction does seem to have a decent price and a decent reputation with regards to the seller.
I'm no expert here, but, Where do these come from? Who's the mfr. or rebldr. This guy does have excellent feedback, I grant you, but all the quality converters that people talk about here cost $6-700 and up! What kind of quality can you really expect for less than 1/4 the price. I can vouch for the fact that there is a tremendous mark up on this stuff as I purchased my converter "jobber" for exactly 1/2 the out the door retail price, but 1/4  I'd check this out VERY CAREFULLY.
There is a member on the forum who has a post on this page right now who lives in the city where this guy claims to be doing business from. Perhaps you might contact him and see what he might know or be able to find out for ya.
One more thing that bothered me here. "The stall speed on this converter will be 2000-2600 RPM and will be fine for up to 500 hp. Retail price on this converter is $239" and " Just like all torque converters, your actual stall speed will depend on your vehicle; HP, torque, etc. The more power you have the higher your stall speed. This is why most companies give a range of stall speeds." I don't recall any such mention of ranges of stall on my new Hughes converter. 2500 stall printed right on the box and the reciept.
Good luck and let us know what you find out.
