Well, I was ready to pull the manifold off my 85 to replace lifters as I 'thought" I had a bad lifter.
I decide to check the oil before I start turning wrenches and what did I find? There was a spot
on the oil stick that looked like it was being worn.. Well, I start up the motor and no noise.. I couldnt believe it.. I know the motor has four bolt mains in it...now I am curious as to what is
hitting the oil stick....I'm going to drop the pan anyway but not for awhile... Any ideas?

I dont think it's anything major but what gets me is that it wasnt making this noise previously
and kinda started on it's own. I nearly pulled the motor apart for nothing.. Got lucky I guess.
And yes I am aware that four bolt isnt stock... I was kind of surprised when I dropped the pan to see that. Don't mods have to be made to accomodate the four bolt caps? Or not?
