I got an 84 with a rebuilt 86 engine 4 bolt main with 600 cfm carb and alum intake, with ported polished 198 92 heads. I just got off the phone with Lingenfelter and they told me a good cam for my car would be a hydraulic cam numbers 214-224 and 472-496 that was specs using a set of 1.6 rockers me have factory he said that it should be a little lower in numbers. He said that me having a factory size truck cam this cam should imporve HP by about 25HP and should make a big diffrence. I was also wondering if I will need to do any other mods if I got this cam.
:steering:
That cam is the LPE 73212 with (don't know what is 472-496):
214/224 deg duration, .443"/.465" lift with 1.5:1 rockers and LSA of 112 deg.
216/226 deg duration, .470"/.494" lift with 1.6:1 rockers
You could likely just swap in the cam, lifters and rockers and all you would need is a tube of light assembly lube and some cam lube for breakin.
You shold get a nice boost in performance, good luck with the mod.
Ok thanks for the info it is a 472-496 I put in the wrong number. But I dont have the money for the 1.6 rockers right now but it should still help my engine a lot with the cam. Thats all the info I needed thanks
