Frisbee was removed, now there's minor vibration I can feel from under the hood when accelerating hard, which wasn't there prior to the removal.
1. Is this a normal byproduct of frisbee removal?
2. Does this cause additional strain on the engine which induce early wear of parts?
3. Is there anything I should be concerned with?
I'm wondering if I should put the frisbee back on
The "frisbee" was only a damper on the belts as the A/C cycled.
After I tossed mine the only thing I noticed was a little quicker spin up in revs.
You might check the pulleys to assure they are solid and on straight, i.e. no wobbling.
Also check the damper to see if it may have spun a little; the elastomer does deteriorate over time which allows the outer ring to separate from the inner.
I've heard that it's more or less hit or miss when removing the frisbee.
Some get away with no vibration, some get the vibration.. Unfortunately,
you got the vibration so if it's aggavating enough you might want to just
throw it back on...
