None.
Your 88 is a 1.5 DIN unit. I have a Pioneer DEH-P77DH (something like that, definitely the 77 and not the 47)

Re: Double Din Stereo... (scorp508)
You can always put in a full DIN stereo and a 1/2 DIN equalizer, like I did in my 96. Sorry, no pics right now.

Yup you got it. It is 1.5 times the height of a normal 1 DIN unit.

Re: Double Din Stereo... (autotech)
I have a Pioneer DEH-P77DH. It fits OK but the color is a dark grey. It never
looked that good so I painted it black. You can take the front panel off of it
remove the screws and unclip the clips. I left the buttons silver. It looks way
better than it did. This is a good unit and has 4V line outs if you go the
separate amp non Bose speaker route. The CD never skips and I have a 85 with Z51 suspension.

Re: Double Din Stereo... (autotech)
get the install kit and buy a GOOD single DIN head unit... there are SO many more options for the 1 DIN's than for the 1.5 or 2.0 DIN's.
For some reason, it seems like the stereo makers use their crappiest heads and expand them to fit into these dash boards.
Alpine was the exception... they used to have a 2 DIN that was to die for, but, alas, they no longer make it... (and it wouldn't fit anyway...)
check into Alpine for a 1 DIN head...

So that it'll look like crap? I have yet to see a good install kit for Corvette. The only ones that look like they belong there are custom jobbers.

:iagree: Most 1 din units are to deep for the Vette so they install kit moves
the unit out about an inch.

Re: Double Din Stereo... (vinnies87)
You can't because of the main bundle of wires that runs behind the radio.

It's a Pioneer FH-M75. Pretty sure they don't make it any more. I bought mine a week after I bought the car back in 92.

Re: Double Din Stereo... (autotech)
I fit a Clarion in mine, but it did take a little bit of custom work (not much). Basically, you'd need to file down the tab on the back of the radio frame

Re: Double Din Stereo... (Ramrod92)
What type of an adapter would you need to use the bose speakers and would a regular stereo shop have them.
