When just driving slow like in a parking lot (5-15 miles per hour) and running about 1500 rpms, there is a light rattle under the car. It sounds like something is loose. You have to have the windows down to hear it. Since I don't have a lift at my disposal and I haven't had a chance to get my oil changed, I can't get under the car to see if I can see where its coming from.
Any ideas, other than just a ragged-out car!!!!!!!!
When I had a rattle I found a loose O2 sensor. Thought is was coming from the trans. But just use a jack and some stands get under and check it out. I cleaned all of the junk under the car last time I was under it...
There are lots of things that can rattle under there. For me, it was the metal line that goes between the catalytic converter and the diverter valve. It was vibrating against some other lines in the same area.
Time to get under there and "Shake, Rattle, Roll"......
 That's the next plan on the agenda.....I just wanted to see if there were any specifics to look for right off the bat.
I had thought of the exhaust hanger but just haven't looked yet. Thanks!!!!
knock on the cat. converter... sometimes they will break loose inside the housing and rattle like that. could also be the heat shield on the cat.
just climb under there and start shaking things.
