I have the cat off because I'm replacing the clutch disc and decided to gut it, I looked inside the cat and it doesn't look too easy, do I just take something metal to it and smash everything out of the middle? Is there something I need to be careful of?
Just take something metal and bang all the stuff out of the cat,,, everything inside has to go........... It is a mess and you will be pounding for a while,,,, do it outside,,, and dont breath the stuff in.... you will be pleased with the results
IM me if you need soem help
Bash it with a iron pipe and hammer. Sort of breaks up like a hard clay pot. Put in a metal pipe inside to avoid turbulance. You can also remove all the air feed crapola if you are not in a smog **** state.
This is just my opinion, its not a good policy to bang anything. Take a spade bit as mentioned and carefully drill out the contents of the cat. Your car will be louder, for sure.
