Hey LD,
Are you using a digital voltmeter set on the ohms scale?
Anyways I get so confused how to properly test the wires.A book I have says to use an Ohmeter, and set the scale to 100,000 or greater. If any wires are 30,000 ohms or higher,to replace them.
Then another area says to set the scale at X1000 and that a good wire will have less than 10,000 ohms but greater than 1000 ohms per foot.
Anyways that with using an ohmeter and im unsure if the voltmeter set on the ohms scale is the same or give the same readings?
Makes me  since all I have is the digital voltmeter with the ohms scale and not an ohmeter tool by itself so i could never compare the 2.
I always assumed it was the same.
:)
When comparing performance wires use Ohms/ft to check wire integrity I suppose anything over 30k Ohms would indicate a bad wire.
Taylor recently came oute with a low resistance wire at 40 Ohms/ft, before that MSD had with lead with it's 8.5mm SuperConductor wire at 50 Ohms/ft.
I run TPIs wires which are several hundreds of Ohms/ft thought still way bettter than stocks.
A DMM is a great tool to accurately measure wire resistance. Use the Ohms scale and set it to AutoRange. Then just read the Ohms and divide by the length of the wire.

Hey Bill, yes it is a small Pocket Digital Multimetter, I will pick up a real tester today or tomorrow..
