Default help me with burning chips

Hi all..

Topic says it

i want to start with burning my own chips...

have already an eprom programmer, the moates adaptor for memcal

i will work with tunercat, free Winaldl or Moates Scantools...or..Datamaster, if necessary

the car is a 90L98

Mods : Xtreme energy Cam, 258/264 206/212 @.050 In.Lobe .3200 / Ex.Lobe .3250 , 112° LSA, 1:1,52 Roller Tip Rockers, exhaust w/o cats, Single mass conversion

my first expression is, that its much better revving, also seems to have a lot more of torque at bottom and mid-range

to make the story complete, i want to burn a matching chip

idle is unstable, especially if engine gets at operating temperature...can this be a result from the closer LSA?? stock is about 117 or 114,5 if i remember correctly...

should i start from the stock BIN and work out??

ok, thats it so far...

i really hope you help me again...

thank you

Have you read the how to at thirdgen.org?

You've got a lot of work ahead of you.

I would start with the stock bin file. You will PROBABLY have to change/adjust throttle stop position, TPS, commanded idle, fueling in the idle areas, and timing in the idle areas just to get the idle right.

Then, you can work on part throttle, WOT, and lots of other fun stuff.

yes, i have read the thirdgen.org..interesting

i know, its not an easy stuff, but i think, definitely worth the effort..and i think, also necessary

if you do mods on a carbed engine, you always have to adjust the carb ...so, must be the same on a fuelie..but a bit more difficult ;)

ok, opinions are always welcome

thank you

Ebay for the programmer.

Then, get you an AutoProm. Does it all.

Craig- it's about dang time! That autoprom looks pretty sweet as an all-in-one package... it's a shame I'm already set up with the "old school" way of doing things... :D
