my airfoil was sent to my parents' house today, so I'm going to head over there soon to put it on. I know the install is probably very simple but before I start unscrewing & and removing stuff, I'd like to the know the exact install 1st. Thanks.
The install procedure is actually to box it back up and send it back for a refund. There is virtually no gain resulting from the install of one of these things.
If you do want to install it, there are two types; one simply fits in the front of the throttle body and is clamped in place by the clamp for the air tube, or the other style uses an existing screw in the front divider in the stock TB. The TB is aluminum so don't tighten the screw too much or yo will risk stripping the threads. Just remove the air tube to gain access to the front of the TB.

too late I can't return it. I figure why not have one. It seems that a lot of lightly bolt on vettes w/ induction mods like cai, air foil, descreened maf, ect.. & and a cat-back or some other exhaust set up are runnin some pretty nice times. I ran a 13.6 stock, so I think all the little things add up to make a quick, basically stock car. Thanks for the info on the install.
The only additional tip I can give you is to use thread lock on the bolt (if yours is the kind that has one). There are horror stories of the bolt getting sucked into a valve = $$$$$$$
Ok, I just got the house and got the part. it has a little metal bullet shaped piece that goes on the end of the screw. how does that fit on during the installation?? Thanks.
doesn't seem right? there's the air foil, the screw, and then there's a little metal bullet shaped piece that was also included. I bought it used, and don't have the person's # that shipped it. the bullet shaped piece was on the end of the screw in the packaging?
to install the "insert nut" you remove the 6 screws on the TPI cover...then remove the cover...it drops in the back part of the tpi where the screw will attach to it after it passes through the air foil...( use a small amount of threadlock on the screw).....IMO I felt a noticeable improvement in throttle response on my red automatic 95....good luck
well i found a website w/ some pics and got the install done earlier. i didn't use any threadlock, but tightened the screw in there pretty secure. i guess i will remove it and put some threadlock on it over the next month or so when i get time. I'm satisfied with it, it was only $15, and if i gained a little something then great...
If you really want to have an AirFoil in your car, stick it under the Pax seat...It'll do the same amount of good there as in the engine, and none of the bad.
Lol.. wow, you guys are roasting that thing  . 1hp at 6500 is 1hp, right ? :D .... i still have mine somewhere. Instead of it just collecting dust on the shelf I think I may put it on (with loctite of course).
