Default Muffler application - 96 onto 84

I have my two stock mufflers from my '96 for sale and an interested party wants to know if they'll fit on her '84. So of coarse, I came to the experts. I'm figuring since you don't usually see new mufflers being grouped with all C4s in application catalogues, that they won't fit. But maybe for a muffler shop, it wouldn't be an issue. I just don't want to sell her something that won't work.
Thanks

I hear ya-

I have an 84 and bought a stock pair of 90+ ZR1 GM OEM mufflers...I have not installed them as of yet- but laying them under the car the bends seem to be in the correct places. The only issue she will have is that the 84 has 2.25" pipes and the newer mufflers are 2.5" dia. This should not be too big of an issue for a muffler shop as they can spread the pipe a bit to accomidate the larger muffler opening. Also, the 84 muffler to hanger setup uses a bolt to hold it up...(not sure if your mufflers are the same as my ZR1's) but they have a threaded end that would require a nut to hang them (again, it didn't look like an issue to me) Hope this helps...I am sure someone here has done this swap...

Cheers
