Has anyone ever replaced the "capacitor" looking component (next to Dist) that is connected in-line with the tach? The GM manual shows that it is actually a resistor/capacitor network built in that component. Also, is anyone NOT running it?
I build a replacement because I thought it was causing problems with my tach. You can't buy them from GM anymore, although I just saw them advertised as an aftermarket piece - pretty pricey considering its like $1 worth of parts.
My tach has been mucking about since I installed MSD ignition. (sometimes is a bit slow to respond when revved)
Does the tach wire have anything to do with the engine management or is it solely for the tacho?
