Default Modified engine and idle quality.

Have made some modifications and among them a larger cam. The idle is lopy as supposed.
The thing is that when the aircon is on or in better words there is a change in the load when in idle the engine goes down in rpm and sometimes stalls.

I have read, but cannot find it that it is the IAC that cannot adjust the air because most of the air is going through the butterflies instead of through the IAC. That makes sence as I had to adjust the min idle air and the butterflies was much more open than with the stock cam. The engine is the .030 bored 350 cid with a hydr.flattappet cam 221/230 intake/exhaust and 112 LS.

The vacuum is about about 16 inches hg.

I have heard that it is possible to increase the bypass airpassage in the throttlebody. Will that increase the air through the IAC???.

It make sence due to the symptoms that the adjustments area of the IAC is too little.

Does anybody have experiences or have read or have a link that can help me.

Are you using the stock throttle body or aftermarket? I have heard that there can be issues with idle quality when using an aftermarket TB, but don't have an experience with aftermarket TBs myself.

On a side note, I flew into Oslo five times last year for business down in Halden. Love your country, man!

I have a CompCam in my '87 and a 52mm throttle body. It doesn't stall.

I'd replace the IAC. Then set your TPS at 7.4-7.6V. No probs.
