Hello all. I bought my first C4 a couple of weeks ago. It is a 1990 Hardtop Convertible with the six speed. The car only has 7513 miles onit and for the most part is cherry. However, when I bought the car, the previous owner apparently hooked a battery jumper pack up backwards. Obviously the system couldn't take it. I've already replaced the ECM, BCM, and radio. Now I can't seem to fix the abs brakes. I have replaced the ABS brain, but to no avail.
When I start the car, the light is off. The abs does it's self test, and afterward, the light comes on. I've read posts about wheel sensors being bad, and wheel bearings being screwed up, but it seems highly unlikely. I don't even think the tires have been off the car before. Is there anything else that I should be looking for?
Also, as a sidenote, would anyone recommend or have installed a true dual exhaust on an L98? I don't have to worry about emissions, but I don't want the thing so loud I can't think. Also, is there any performance gains to be recognized? If not, I might just replace the original mufflers and call it good.

Make sure the master cylinder reservoir is fully topped off. This is generally the solution to the problem you have stated. As far as mufflers ~ go with the Dynomax Super Turbos, if you want a little more droan, no resonance, and enjoy the company of your significant other.

Welcome to the Forum and congrats on your new Vette.
True duals would work well on an L98, as would a new front Y, cat elim pipe and hi-flow cat back. You can expect some nice power gains from exhaust mods but also a sound level increase. Check out the currently running thread on exhaust systems as I responded with a link to muffler test data.
The key to exhaust mod gains is to use mandrel bent pipes with hi flow mufflers. Almost any performance muffler pair will flow enough to handle your engine's needs, so you can select based on quietness.
Thanks for the replies. I'll check the fluid level when I get back to the car. Something tells me that it is already full though. When I had the bcm changed, the tech told me that he could not communicate with the ABS brain, and I just assumed that he meant the brain was bad. Any other suggestions?
As far as the exhaust goes, I am torn between getting a true dual system and adding some high flow mufflers, or getting someones proprietary system. It doesn't seem like there will be a whole lot of performance difference, and they would pretty much be the same price all together.

One thing... If you do install true duals its more than likely a custom job, I don't really know of any kits like that. Remember to install a crossover tube or X-pipe as the pressure equalization will prove significant performance increases.

I had that system from Mid America. First off it didn't fit very well the pipes had to be cut to shorten them cause when I got to the back of the car where the mufflers were it moved everything back about 3 or 4 inches. Also when I started the car and revved it up to hear how it sounded it had a lot of backfiring and popping out the exhaust without the main cat on it. Needless to say I took it off and went back to the stock system with just the addition of good muffs it sounded alot better :)
